Cbank says cuts 2020 liquidity surplus forecast to 2.1–2.7 tln rbl
MOSCOW, Apr 15 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank has reduced the structural liquidity surplus forecast for the end of 2020 to 2.1–2.7 trillion rubles from 3.4–3.9 trillion rubles, the authority said in a report on Wednesday.
The outlook includes recalculation of the forecast for cash in circulation, suspension of foreign currency purchases on the domestic market under the budget rule, and suspension of gold purchases on the domestic market.
The influence of transactions in the framework of the sale of a stake in Sberbank to the government will be reflected in the outlook after adjustment of the central bank's macroeconomic forecast.
The estimate for structural liquidity surplus in March was reduced by 1.5 trillion rubles to 2.3 trillion rubles because of a high households' demand for foreign currency during the instability.
